Job Desk is the customer and job organizer inside Owner’s Desk, the business software suite from Smart Growth Services. A business uses Job Desk to keep its customer records in one place, to text and call customers and keep those conversations together, to book jobs and appointments, to send estimates and invoices, and to publish posts to its own social media accounts. The people who use it are the owner and staff of that business; the records in it are that business’s own.
Why Job Desk connects to your Google Calendar, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts
Each connection is optional. You turn it on by clicking Connect in Job Desk and signing in on that platform’s own page, and you can disconnect it at any time. Job Desk never sees your password for any of these accounts.
- Google Calendar. When you book a job or an appointment in Job Desk, it is added to the Google calendar you choose, and updated or removed there if the booking changes or is cancelled. Before offering a time, Job Desk checks whether you are already busy on the calendars you pick, so it does not double-book you. It reads the names of your calendars so you can choose one, and your account email address so you can see which account is connected. It does not read the details of your other events.
- Facebook Pages. Job Desk shows the Pages you manage so you can pick one, publishes the posts, photos and videos you create to that Page, and checks whether a post it published is still on the Page.
- Instagram. Through the Facebook Page it is linked to, Job Desk reads your Instagram Business account’s ID and username so you can see which account is connected, and publishes the posts you create to that account.
- TikTok. Job Desk reads your display name, and when you post directly, your username and profile picture, so you can see which account will receive a video. It sends the videos and photos you choose to your TikTok account, either to your TikTok inbox to finish in the app, or posted directly with the privacy and disclosure choices you pick.
